I really am trying to limit my politcal posts, but here is something that just crossed my mind.
John McCain is, if not completely computer illiterate, at least not a computer user. Based on the technology adoption curve chart above, do you think America would have even thought about electing  Harry Truman in 1945 if he couldn’t use a telephone? What about Dwight Eisenhower in 1953 if he wouldn’t ride in cars? Those technologies had similar adoption rates then as computers and the internet have today, and those administrations oversaw important decisions in these fields that still affect us today (I’m thinking specifically about Eisenhower and the Interstate Highway System). Do you really want a president who is so out of touch with modern society that he looks completely lost filming even a welcome video for his website? I don’t care if my president is on facebook or blogging or whatever the kids are doing these days, but he should at least have a general idea of what is going on with a large part of our economy and culture.
Also, Mark Cuban has a good argument about national security implications of McCain’s illiteracy that are also worth thinking about.
